My daughter's 3rd Birthday, went to Buca for lunch and they surprised her with a BIG cupcake for a small girl.
Struggled with getting both in focus and my subject could only wait so long before digging in.
That is a very BIG cupcake. Captured the mood very nicely!
ReplyDeleteha ha ha...totally made me day! I'm sure you already know the things I'm going to point out. It's so so so so hard taking photos of a two year old (wait is she three now?)...and it looks like you were in a pretty dark place without access to any other light source. I'm sad that we cant' see more of Julia's face...The shadow on her shirt is distracting as well...
ReplyDeleteI really love the contrast between the child and the huge cupcake! Great great great concept!
Holy giant cupcake! Great subject and contrast of big cupcake and little girl. I like that it's not a straight on angle. I agree with Diana about the lighting difficulties. (I need to comment earlier so that I'm not always just agreeing with Diana like I did on the last 5 photos that I commented on :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of camera are you using? I know that I get REALLY frustrated trying to take pictures in lower light.
Wow that is a huge cupcake!! Is that all frosting on the top, or is it a cone of cake underneath (I've seen molds like this in the store...)
ReplyDeleteVery cute. Now I'm getting hungry!
Is you camera a point and shoot? I have the same problem with mine. I think some of the focus issue with this kind of forced perspective photo has a lot to do with the lens. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forced_perspective - the article on wikipedia really helped me understand the concept a bit better. As Diana said, some of your issue is light.
ReplyDeleteOverall, this is a really cute photo. I wish I had a cupcake now.
My camera is point and shoot. We were at Buca downtown Milwaukee and it is very low lighting mixed with huge bulb Christmas type lights so taking a picture with out flash was very frustrating with the camera I have.
ReplyDeleteI was planning on doing something completely different but I could not pass up this picture even with all the imperfections.
That was all frosting on top of the cupcake, there seemed to be as much frosting as cupcake (still have a little left over in the fridge).
