Photo Challenge #19

The challenge:Pick an object, pick a window in your place of residence and photograph that object at different times of the day at said window.

I used a window facing east: 7am has morning sun, Noon the sun is directly above the house... and that is it (sorry have been super busy and I used a window in my daughter's room so between nap and bedtime never got around to going back for a pic). The Object I am using is fake roses in a tight bunch in a small clear glass vase w/little bit of water. My first go at this on Wednesday did not turn out, my cat knocked off the glass object and broke it (only got 7am & half way through the Noon pics then the object broke) SO redoing it today (Friday).

  1. Lovely pics!

The first one I kind of wish the big flowers were in focus rather than the ones on the left.

The 2nd one - really like the angle of this - nice sunny lovely lighting too! the color of the wall on the top left corner goes well with the color of the flowers too.

The 3rd one - I think you're getting into trying new angles and things - I like the angle but perhaps the background light is a little too bright and darkens the rich colors of the flowers a bit. Still, though, it's creatively done - I like.

For the noon ones - the first one doesn't really do it for me - a little *too* close-up I think and the background seems overexposed.

The 2nd one as well - you can really tell the difference of the time of day compared with the morning photo. I like the way the sun hits the water in the vase.

The 3rd one - interesting angle but I'd like to see the colors of the flowers more and a little less of a bright background.

Overall, I like the different angles you chose and despite only doing photos for two times of the day I think you made the most of it - I had a similar issue with having limited times of the day to take photos and I think you captured more successfully than I the change of daylight in the photos.

  2. What a pretty subject! I think that you did a really nice job with all of the angles.

The second picture is my favorite. Very clear with very nice angles made by the camera at an angle and flowers going diagonally.

The second morning pictures seems to have lost come of the brightness of the flowers but the flowers do look GIANT since you took them from that angle.

Did you play with any of your camera settings on the darker set to try to get more exposure? I think that they are all taken at great angles.

    Nicely done!

  3. Nice job Katie! I like the different angles you used. And I can really tell the differences in the times of day--the noon ones were more shadowy on the inside side (does that even make sense?? :)

  4. Workin the Angles! hehe

Way to have a go at it this week despite your woes! I agree that the first one I wish had the bigger portion of flower in focus. The second photo is my favorite I think. I like the bit of red in the upper corner. Nice Job!
