Challenge #42

Submit 1-3 images at the end of this week of creative images of the sky.
These can be edited/tweaked,cropped in any way.
The Journey from Lincoln, Nebraska to Waco Nebraska after an
afternoon of Black Friday shopping.

I took over 100 photos, these were all taken while I was in the passenger seat of the car in a span of 35 mins, only 40 turned out and these are some of my favorites. It was hard to narrow down to even 5 photos, could have easily put up 15 of my favorites if not more. Hope you enjoyed, I loved this challenge, Thanks Nebraska for such wonderful photos!

Photo Challenge #41

The Challenge: The Rule of Thirds
Submit three photographs of the same subject demonstrating the rule of thirds. You can either take three photos, cropping your image differently, or take one picture and crop it three different ways.

Found this very challenging, had tried this with three different subjects (cat, flowers, and lama) and the lama ones turned out the best. Did you know that lamas are fascinated with dachshunds, my sister-in-law took us out to visit the lama farm while out in Nebraska and she brought one of her little dachshunds along and those lamas would follow where ever that little dog ran (which made it hard to get still photos, I tried to talk to them but lamas do not listen very well with a dachshund running around).

Struggled with this challenge more because I had no idea what to do for the "old fashioned" part, so in the end I made some yummy old fashion hot chocolate with marshmallows. Enjoy!

From the book Johnny Appleseed
by Reeve Lindbergh, Kathy Jakobsen Hallquist
He said he'd bring them apple trees,
Our Lord's gift to the earth,
He said the sun would warm his seeds,
The rain would give them birth.
He said that each good orchard grown
Would bear fruit as God planned,
And give the yearning pioneers
A taste of Promised Land.

After taking many photos I realized that my camera lens had a smudge so there may be a blurry spot... also still trying to work on taking outside pictures when it is bright out.

Photo Challenge #34

Broke Down: Very late but thought this was very fitting.
Submit 3 photos of the same subject from different angles or different distances
Take these as B&W images... Tweaking is OK.

This happened Tuesday night, it was very gusty and this tree either broke due to the wind or maybe it was struck by lighting. The tree is on the neighbor's property but now half of it is on our property, we are all thankful no one was hurt and there is no damage besides the tree.

Not part of the challenge but here they are in color because the color was so vivid.

Photo Challenge #25

This week's challenge: Do a setup to specifically "sell a product"- this can be anything, really, for example : hat, shoes, cat food, soap- anything.

The challenge is to do this with a friend, relative, or pet as your model.
Submit 3 photos- and let us know which is your favorite.
These may be b/w, color, or anything in between.
Editing is allowed.

The best cat bed ever... which is actually a big stuffed bunny/toy.

My favorite is the 2nd photo... he looks so comfy and relaxed.

My original thought was to take pics of my other cat but only got one good one before he took off and refused to "pose" any more. I decided to add this 4th photo just because I really like it but did not have enough to make the 3 photo series.

IAMS yummy cat food...
